Klädbibblan stands for social, economical and environmental sustainability in Linköping. The association focuses on the idea of a sharing economy by promoting the value of sharing clothes instead of owning them. Besides the offer to borrow clothes for free to everyone, this year's winner of the Sustainable Hope award arranges free events on sewing, fixing broken clothes, upcycling old clothes or presenting clothes in fashion shows. Thus, the value of clothing is more appreciated and worn clothes are given a second life. Furthermore, people are enabled to learn a new skill and make new acquaintances. The aim of the voluntarily run association is to promote a greater sensitivity of society to the value of clothes as every piece of clothing contains the work of people behind it as well as effects on the environment. Hereby, they want to slow down fast fashion which comes along with several problems. By offering a 'library for clothes', Klädbibblan aims to counteract egoism by opening people's minds towards a society of sharing. Therefore, the Sustainable Hope award 2019 goes to Klädbibblan for showing the value of clothes and the ideal of a sharing economy.
